Moroccan tea

Moroccan mint tea, also known as Moroccan whisky due to its strong taste and aroma, is one of the most distinctive elements of culture and social life in Morocco. The ritual of drinking this tea has deep symbolic and social significance, reflecting hospitality and respect for guests.

The process of preparing Moroccan tea is as important as the drinking itself. The tea is prepared by smashing fresh mint in the palms of the hands and steeping it with green tea in a special dish. A large amount of sugar is then added to achieve the sweet taste that is characteristic of this tea.

Moroccan mint tea is therefore not only a tasty drink, but also an important part of the country's culture and traditions, which is reflected in the city's portraits as a symbol of hospitality, friendship and togetherness.

Moroccan culture

Morocco has a rich and diverse culture, a combination of Arab, Berber, African and European influences.

Religious customs play an important role in social life, with Islam being the main religion practised by the majority of the population.
The influence of tradition and religion is strongly present in daily dress. Men wear long galabiyas, which are loose and airy dresses that are usually white or beige. Women, on the other hand, wear kaftans, which can be richly decorated with embroidery and gold patterns. In some regions, women are ordered to wear a hijab or headscarf.

In summary, Moroccan culture is distinguished by its diversity, tradition and religious influences. When dressing for everyday life, the country's inhabitants tend to follow conservative rules regarding dress and respect for tradition.

Morocco is ruled by Islam, which is an integral part of its culture and social life. The majority of Moroccans practise Sunni Muslimism. The country has strict rules on behaviour and dress, especially in religious places. Traditional religious practices are very important in Morocco, such as praying five times a day, celebrating religious festivals and making pilgrimages to the mosque in Mecca.

Moroccan food

In Morocco, fish, meat and vegetable markets play an important role in the daily lives of the locals. These markets are a place where the community meets, information and goods are exchanged and contacts are made. Trade at the markets is often carried out by family-run businesses that pass on their skills from generation to generation.

The fish, meat and vegetable markets in Morocco are where tradition and modernity meet, creating a unique experience for locals and tourists alike. The trade at the markets reflects the richness of Moroccan culture and traditions, which is worth exploring and experiencing during a trip to this fascinating country.

Fish, meat and vegetable markets are an integral part of Moroccan culture. The markets are bustling and noisy, and the aromas of fresh produce fill the air. Traders try to attract customers by displaying their products and negotiating prices. Fish is one of the most important ingredients in Moroccan cuisine, so the choice at the markets is huge. Meat also plays an important role in Moroccan cuisine, and many types of meat, both lamb and beef, can be found at the markets. Vegetables and fruit are abundantly available at Moroccan markets, the wealth of colours and flavours beckoning you to buy. The fish, meat and vegetable markets are not only a place for trade, but also a community gathering where gossip or recipes can be exchanged.

In my opinion, this is the most beautiful portrait photograph I had to take at last travel time. The shot of the Oyster Master in the background of the seafood stand adds character and authenticity. The colours and light are perfectly chosen, making the whole composition look very harmonious. You can feel the atmosphere of the place and the moment that was captured in the photo. Fish market Es-Sawira.

The work of the fishermen at the Es-Sawira fishing port is difficult and demanding. Every day at dawn, the fishermen take to the sea in their traditional fishing boats called 'essawira boats' in search of fish. When they return to port, the fishermen unload their boats, sell their catch at the local fish market and maintain and repair their boats. Fishing plays a key role in the economy of the town of Es-Sawira, and the fish port is the heart of this traditional craft. The daily movement of the fishermen, the aromas of fresh fish and the colourful views of the fishing harbour make the place extremely picturesque and attract both tourists and the local community.

Moroccan fishing harbour

The history of the fishing port of Es-Sawira dates back to Phoenician times, but the current port was developed during colonial times, under the Portuguese and Spanish rule. Thanks to its strategic location on the Atlantic, the port became an important place for maritime trade and fishing.
